| "Gartheme" is a successful artist with paintings in the best collections around the world, including the United States, England, Italy, Mexico, Ecuador, and Columbia. Born in Iquitos, Peru in 1969, Gartheme has lived most of his life in Peru with the exception of a long excursion to Ecuador. While in Ecuador, he studied at the famous School of Painting in Quito. He is also an accomplished sculptor with a keen interest in the female form. He has studied in the ateliers of the world-renowned artists Tilsa Tsuchylla and Ladislao Plasencki. Gartheme's paintings of nudes discover the essence of the model, showing her mood as well as the lines of her body. His monochramatic paintings are modern, but seek to inject a unique element by aging the canvas to appear old and yellowed. Collectors are drawn to both the figures and the interesting texturing, and he continues to develop a devoted following. |
