| Raul Garcia Ambor studied drawing and graphic design at the Universidad Catolica Santa Maria, and graduated from Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes "Carlos Baca Flor" de Arequipa. He obtained a Bachelor of Art degree from Escuela de Artes de la "Universidad Nacional de San Agustin de Arequipa".
His awards include: 1987- 1st place at the Carlos Baca Flor Bellas Artes School, Arequipa; 1989- Honourable mention at the contest "Unamonos", Arequipa; 1990- 3rd place at the contest "Unamonos", Arequipa; 1993- Honourable mention at V Watercolor contest "Peruvian Landscape", Lima; 1995- 2nd place, Paiting contest at Arequipa City Hall; 1996- 1st place, XXIV National Salon of watercolor, Lima; 1997- 1st place XVII National Contest of Painting Michell & CIA, Arequipa; 2000- 1st place XII Watercolor contest "Peruvian Landscape", Lima; 2002- 2nd place XV National Contest of Painting "Pro-Unamonos, Arequipa.
